New Yorkers live in one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. where virtually nothing is free. Yet they still don’t take advantage of the many free services The New York Public Library offers such as music streaming, audiobooks, ebooks, museum passes, wifi, etc.

NYPL is one of the few places where you can still get free media. It is a symbol of democracy that offers knowledge to everyone.

We tapped into the messaging of grass roots movements to prove that NYPL represents free knowledge for the people.

PRINT —- We took 4 different movements and used their visual language to communicate the free benefits that the Library offers.

NYPL READ-IN —- NYPL will host a Bryant Park take over featuring a range of grassroots movement inspired activities.

COVERS FOR THE PEOPLE —- NYPL will put a spin on some of the lost iconic protest songs and make them available on Nexus, their free music streaming platform. Teasers on Instagram will direct people to the platform.
